Dr. Stringel knew from an early age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She grew up near Lindsay, Ontario on a small horse farm. After completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph Andrea gained admission to the Ontario Veterinary College. In 2000, Dr. Stringel graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and began her veterinary career in Linwood, and then in an equine practice in Erin. Here she gained valuable experience in equine reproduction, dentistry, herd health and performance horse lameness.

Wanting to return to the rural countryside, Dr. Stringel joined the team in Perth in 2002. She enjoys the variety of small animal medicine and surgery and equine ambulatory medicine. In 2010, Dr. Stringel became a partner in the practise and is happy to be a permanent part of the Perth Veterinary Clinic team.

When not at work, Dr. Stringel enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She enjoys staying fit and active by running, riding, skiing and hiking. Combining her love of horses and her profession, Dr. Stringel loves breeding beautiful German Oldenburg Warmblood horses on their scenic farm near Merrickville, Ontario. Andrea trains and competes in dressage with one of her home bred horses in her free time!
